Mental Health
Mental Health Services at Methodist Richardson Medical Center consist of the following programs/services:
Psychiatric Inpatient Care - The 30-bed inpatient unit is designed to treat psychiatric issues that require 24-hour nursing care and a safe environment during the acute phase of crisis stabilization treatment.
Chemical Dependency Inpatient Care - This program provides medically supervised detoxification treatment for the acute phase of alcohol and other addictive drug withdrawal symptoms. This program provides group therapy and 24-hour nursing care on the hospital’s fourth floor.
Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization - This intermediate level of care is designed to treat psychiatric issues that do not require 24-hour nursing care or a restricted environment. The program is held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient - This program is designed to intensively treat psychiatric issues, while the patient continues regular activities such as work or family responsibilities.
Faith Based Intensive Outpatient - This is a non-denominational, faith based program designed to intensively treat psychiatric and behavioral symptoms which have led to the interruption of activities of daily living and faith.
Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient - This program is designed to intensively treat chemical dependency issues on an outpatient basis while the patient continues regular activities such as work or family responsibilities. This program has the following services:

Chemical Dependency Treatment for anger, rage and domestic violence cessation

Chemical Dependency Treatment for impaired professionals
Betty Ford Center - This four day educational/support program is designed for 7 to 12 year olds who are not using alcohol or drugs but have family members with alcoholism and other drug dependencies.
To begin the admission process into any level of Mental Health Services, HelpLine, Methodist Richardson's intake service, is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by calling (972) 498-8500. Questionnaires
The following questionnaires are meant to help determine if you may be possibly suffering from substance abuse/dependency, anxiety, or a major depressive episode. We can help! Call the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Helpline at (972) 498-8500 for more information and/or a no cost evaluation for our mental health services unless you are having active suicidal thoughts.
If you are having suicidal thoughts, please go to your nearest emergency room as soon as possible.
Substance Abuse Questionnaire
Answer each question by checking "Yes" or "No." Please review your responses. If you responded "Yes" to any one of items #1 through #4, you may very possibly have a substance abuse problem. If you responded "Yes" to any three (3) of items #5 through #11, you may possibly have a substance dependence problem.
Anxiety Questionnaire
Answer each question by checking "Yes" or "No." Please review your responses. If you checked "Yes" to five (5) or more items (and at least one of the "Yes" checked items was item #1 or item #2), you may possibly be suffering from agoraphobia.
Depression Questionnaire
Answer each question by checking "Yes" or "No." Please review your responses. If you checked "Yes" to five (5) or more items (and at least one of the "Yes" checked items was item #1 or item #2), you may possibly be suffering from a major depressive episode.
